zuki social icons in sidebar

  Hi there,

  I a having 2 issues with social media “follow”. Hope you can help.

  I have activated the social media icons in the footer successfully by adding a footer menu in zuki. I added a custom menu my sidebar by picking the footer menu. However, instead of showing the icons it showing text? How can i have it show the same icons in the footer.

  2. The text is only show on a single post page not the blog roll. I have tried various show/hide options but none seem to work.

  Can you help show my how to change the text to the same icons in the footer and also add it to my sidebar on the blog page?

  Hello Rumin,

  Zuki only provides the social links menu in the footer. That Menu widget doesn’t include social links icons as an option, so it displays the same menu items but doesn’t know how to turn the links into icons like Zuki’s social links menu does. To include social media icons in the sidebar, you could add icons into image widgets, or if you feel comfortable with HTML, add several of them into a Text widget. You could also leave the Custom Menu in place, and use CSS to hide the text and replace them with icons as background images.

  Right now the widget’s visibility settings are set to display it only on single post’s pages, or on the Posts page.

  Your Posts page is http://chitchaaatchai.com/blog/ , and I see the widget appear there. And like you pointed out the widget does appear on single posts page. Are there other pages you’re want it to display on?

  Hi Alex,

  Thanks for your help. I think my next step is converting the text social shares into icons on the blog roll and single posts page. I need to figure out how to to do this as I prefer to have the icons show in my sidebars like they do in the Zuki demo but I don’t want to add a menu. I also need to figure out how to have the same icons show under each post, in the case a reader wants to share the specific posts.

  Any insight would be helpful.

  I will refer to the CSS forum as well.
