Zuki Theme – HELP! why won't my site look like the demo???

  • Hi Pamela, only some themes display the tagline on the front end of your site, and Pilcrow doesn’t. It is displayed it in the browser title bar/tab and other places in the code, but not on the page itself. If you’d like the tagline to be more prominent you would need to choose a theme that includes the tagline as part of its design. Hope this helps!

Thank you, kathrynwp, for helping again. I thought I’d seen a tagline on the Pilcrow theme photo, but must have either imagined it there, or just didn’t look closely. (Or, maybe the fact that a tagline appears in some places on Pilcrow, but not on its front page is what confused me.)

It’s interesting how different the various WP themes are, and it can be confusing to sort out which themes have what features. I wonder if WP has considered either creating themes that all have the same set of “basic” features (such as a tag line), or creating some kind of chart which would list all the themes and what features each has. Something along that line could be very helpful to users!

    Thanks again!

  • Hi wellcraftedtoo – thanks for your feedback!

It is possible to search for themes that have various features in the theme directory: https://wordpress.com/themes/

If you click the “More” tab, you can search for themes that support a post slider, or have two columns, for example. Not every single feature is listed, though – there are a lot! – but the theme directory is under development, so new ways to search themes are likely to be added in the future.

    Enjoy Pilcrow!
