Zuki theme problems

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I desperately need help with my Zuki theme. I paid for this theme and I am extremely disappointed that simple formatting issues are this hard to fix. For example, the menus are showing me that they’re at the top but other visitors they’re not. Also, I’m trying to post a poem with lines and stanzas and it is continuously posting as one big paragraph, even though in the preview it shows me otherwise. How can I fix this? I’ve tried to use code, work in both the text and visual editors, and type the poem directly into WordPress from scratch as a new post. PLEASE HELP.

    Thank you

For example, the menus are showing me that they’re at the top but other visitors they’re not.

Could you let me know what devices these users are using? I just tested this out on my laptop in Safari, Chrome, and Firefox, and the menu appeared on the top of the page in each. Please note, on mobile browsers, the theme will adjust to show the menu behind an icon like this:

Also, I’m trying to post a poem with lines and stanzas and it is continuously posting as one big paragraph, even though in the preview it shows me otherwise.

Could you try using the preformatted text option shown here for your poetry?

If you continue to have trouble, could you let me know the name of a particular post so I can take a look?

I don’t know if I did it right (pretty sure I did), but I tired the preformatted text option shown there (found that page before I posted this thread. You can see an example on my page under the “Poetry” tab, the poem “Shiver” specifically. Does that make any sense?

    Thanks for the help!

Thanks for clarifying! On archive pages, the whole poem will appear as one paragraph as shown here:

    http://kathleenwilbur.wordpress.com/category/poetry/

However, the individual post page should display the item correctly:

    Shiver

One potential workaround would be to add an excerpt to the post as explained here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/

You could add a few sentences describing the poem. That way, the description will appear on the archive pages instead of the actual poem. Can you give that a try?

You are amazing!!! I used the excerpt option. Thank you soooo much.

Wait one more VERY important question, my menus are not displaying across the top for anyone using Safari it seems. I know you said it works for you but I’ve had several people try it and they only see the “About” page already opened and the post. Any suggestions?? It works for Chrome but I want to make sure my Safari followers can see it as its meant to be seen, too.

    Hi!

This seems to be working for me in Safari as well:

Could you ask someone experiencing trouble in Safari to grab a screenshot of what they’re seeing? Screenshot instructions can be found here:

Now I have someone saying my header isn’t showing up on their Chrome browser either… I know how to take a screenshot but how do I upload it to this thread?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi!

You can actually upload it to your Media Library. Let me know once you’ve done so, and I’m happy to take a look!

For the individual that is having trouble seeing your header in Chrome, could you ask them to clear their browser’s cache?

I just added it to my Media Library! Thanks!

And yeah I read that clearing their cache can fix the problem but I don’t have the ability to tell all my readers to clear their caches you know? So I was hoping for a better solution

Same friend that gave me the screen shot just cleared her cache and restarted the browser and nothing changed :(

Thanks for adding the screenshot to your Media Library! The change in the menu display here is actually a result of the mobile responsiveness of the theme. You can see this in the GIF here:

    http://d.pr/i/1lnn8

When the browser window is shrunk past a certain point, the menu is hidden behind the icon you see. This makes sure it looks great on mobile devices. If the individual that provided the screenshot expands their browser window to take up their entire screen, the menu should appear.

Don’t feel silly! That can be tricky. Please let me know if you need anything else.

Have a great holiday as well!
