¿How can an author role user add a custom field?

  I can’t add custom fields as author role user.

  i can only do it if I add the permission ‘edit other posts’ to authors, but I don’t want them to edit other posts, only to add custom fields.

  Is there any way?

  If you are working with custom fields, then the blog you are talking about is NOT hosted here at wordpress.COM. We do not have custom fields here.

  You need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.
