Bio
I am a master falconer and currently fly two Harris' Hawks.
"I have been rehabbing birds of prey off and on for 27+ years. It wasn't until I became a falconer that I really learned what these birds were really all about. Falconry has given me the knowledge to evaluate rehab birds better and know that when I release them back into the wild, they have a better chance to survive."
I am often asked how to become a falconer and the answer, as you can see, is not as straight forward as it would seem. This article puts it all in one place in an easy step by step format.
Becoming a falconer is a lifestyle change and should not be entered lightly, but, it is a change that will bring many years of joy, excitement and even a bit of heartache. But it will definitely change you in ways you would never have thought possible.
