"I'm Adya Sharma. You can call me A. I'm like one of the twenty-three girls you cross on the street every day. I'm almost there; finding out what my purpose in life is, meanwhile struggling with the everyday 'conflicts-with-self'. When I read a book, I absorb its tiny phrases and long sentences into my veins as if it were my source of existence. Everything I write is an array of thoughts in my head. I'm a huge mess of moments. I'm one secret you should never want to know. Don't try to figure out my state of mind by what you read from me. I write this for me. I write this to you. My joy is like the sound of water dripping from a tap at the washbasin and my sadness is a short and painful haiku written at the death of a favourite character. If I ever die, I'd like to come back to you like your morning cup of coffee; just as necessary, just as strong."
