Bio
Through this blog, I shared my experience of working on community and youth development in Morocco as a Peace Corps volunteer.
The content and images of this blog do not represent the views of the U.S. government, the Peace Corps, or of the Moroccan government.
I am originally from Northern Virginia, and I love the buzz of the city as much as the quiet majesty of the countryside. I left Virginia for Morocco in 2014 and lived in the north African country until April 2016. During those two and change short years I connected with people from communities all over Morocco, learned about Morocco's cultural traditions and history, and I shared my own U.S. culture and history.
Inside and outside of the classroom, I taught lessons on North American culture, the American English language, implemented internationally recognized educational programs, and had pure fun with Moroccan youth.
While living in Tinjdad, time moved slowly and quickly, its environment was welcoming and also bluntly harsh, life was challenging and so easy... in the most adventurous way.
Tinjdad's members speak one of the oldest languages in the world and their food is shared communally outside of neighbors' front lawns.
Enjoy reading this blog; let yourself get lost in the pictures and words. Fill in the blank spaces, question, and imagine. Don't forget to share your thoughts. مرحبا
