Bio
Afra Al Dhaheri, an artist inspired by the nature of her surroundings. Born in Dublin, Ireland in 1988, but was raised in the UAE. In her works she expresses herself in various mediums. Afra is a very active and social artist in the field; she had been a part of “Emirati Expressions 2011”, an intern at the Guggenheim Museum New York, and an intern at the Venice Biennale 2011 and she completed the Sheikha Salama Emerging Artists 1 year Fellowship in collaboration with Rhode Island School of Design . Her exposure to different art scenes influences her work dramatically as she transforms her experiences into bodies of artwork. And currently a she is Rhode Island School of Design Painting MFA candidate.
