Bio
Hi, I'm Charlie Alexander; I was born and live in Scotland.
For a number of years I have been involved in writing, as a contributor and sub-editor on various magazines. I have written several books of poetry, two books of short stories, a novel, two novellas and am presently working on a number of other books. At the moment I am patiently seeking and waiting for a publisher to publish the whole oeuvre.
At the moment I have an e-book on lulu.com The Brass Bed and other Stories. http://www.lulu.com/shop/alan-gregor/the-brass-bed-and-other-stories/ebook/product-20454926.html
In the late seventies I contributed to several slim volumes of Scots poetry, which were local publications, and have been involved in public readings of my works. Although I am acquainted with English, Irish, Scottish, European and American Literature of past centuries, at the moment I am concentrating on British literature of the 20th century: the modern and post-modern eras.
Examples of my work can be seen on Word press, here; and on http://jottify.com/ The Writer' Drawer.http://www.thewritersdrawer.net/
'alan gregor ' (lower case N.B.) is a pen name.
In the late seventies I met the woman who is my wife. We were married on the 9/8/1980. We have a son John Charles Alexander who is twenty nine and knows how to work a computer, fortunately for me. My wife's name is Sylvia; she is a musician, playing viola and piano. Not at the same time. We have a wide ranging taste in music, literature and the arts, particularly the fine arts.
Prior to the uniting of the two German states I lived , received parts of my education, worked and travelled for over seven years in West Germany. My wife, before we met also lived and worked in Germany. We both speak German fluently and I have translated German, Geditchte und Geshichte for my own pleasure. We would like to translate some major German works of the 20th or 21st century, should there happen to be someone reading this who wants a major German writer translated.
Bye for the moment. Charlie Alexander.
