The fortune cookie said, "You will make many changes before settling satisfactorily." It was right.
My partner and I uprooted ourselves from my hometown, Dallas, TX, and embarked on a river journey on the Arkansas, Tennessee, and Ohio Rivers before landing in Cincinnati. The bargain was that "we could take the boat on the river if we landed in a Northern State." Dale is from Wisconsin.
We took two years to get here and the acclimation to highly conservative Cincinnati ways goes better some days than on others. Settling in has taken much longer than expected and reveals something new about me/us every day.
This blog is the practice and discipline of writing. A discipline which keeps me tuned for the non-fiction narrative which chronicles our river travels. As the newness of relocation fades and distraction ceases, the book comes more into focus.
