About Me
Hello, and welcome! I’m a passionate scientist and educator with over 25 years of experience in education and research. My lifelong curiosity about the natural world has guided my journey and continues to inspire me to share the wonder of science with others.
For more than two decades, I’ve had the privilege of teaching science across KS3–KS5 and in higher education throughout the UK. I hold a BSc (First Class) in Science from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (Brazil), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the Teaching Training Agency in London, an MSc in Biodiversity Management from the University of Kent (Canterbury, UK), and a PhD from the University of Otago (New Zealand).
While in New Zealand, I also served as an outreach communicator for the Kiwi Club, where I promoted amphibian conservation among young people — encouraging curiosity, care, and action for these extraordinary yet often overlooked creatures.
Throughout my career, my teaching has consistently been rated good to outstanding, something I attribute to my enthusiasm, creativity, and focus on hands-on learning. I love developing engaging activities that spark curiosity and help learners connect with science in meaningful ways.
My mission is to use science to inspire, engage, and empower people of all ages — helping them better understand the world we share. I live by Benjamin Franklin’s timeless words:
“Tell me, and I will listen; Teach me, and I’ll remember; Involve me, and I will learn.”
To me, learning is not just about knowledge — it’s about curiosity, connection, and discovery — (Benjamin Franklin).
