Bio
Established in 1998, An Gailearaí is a publicly funded gallery in Co. Donegal in the north-west of Ireland.
Nestled in the heart of the Gaeltacht (Irish-language speaking areas of Ireland) it is a publicly funded venture and exhibits quality contemporary visual art. We provide opportunities and support for artists to make and exhibit their work as part of our annual exhibition programme. An Gailearaí has a special interest in developing and commissioning work that draws on traditional cultural sources and/or reflects a Gaeltacht sensibility. Acting as a national advocator of a contemporary cultural expression, An Gailearaí works to extend and promote this experience to other venues and localities by touring.
