Bio
My Biography
I was born in Altus Arkansas, but grew up in Lawrence Kansas the 3rd of 8 children. During my life I have had a variety experiences that have brought me to be who I am today. After being in the Air Force, I attended Kansas University as a Fine Art Major, specializing in textiles. Later I received a Associate of Science Degree in Drafting from Platt College in Missouri. However being a Mom has been the best thing that has happened to me. After marriages and divorces, I have two wonderful grown children, and three adorable grandchildren. It has been a life school of unique experiences. Looking back over the years, there are things that I would not want to re-experience, but I do see gift in everything that has happened.
When I was young-er, I had the desire to be two things in my life. One was to a published children’s book author and the other was to be a successful textile/fiber artist. Now as I make life choices for my future and retirement, I am revisiting both of these passions. In truth, I have always dabbled in art and writing my entire life.
My art talents have always helped me when money was tight. I would make some kind of craft to sell to friends and co-workers to make ends meet. Whether it was Christmas ornaments, or baby blankets, jewelry or purses, I would design and create whatever I imagined. The gifts were always received with joy and gratitude, and often brought more orders.
My biggest writing outlet has been Journaling. But I also wrote children’s plays for church and designed greeting cards for personal use. The plays led to writing children’s’ stories, which led to storytelling. The plays were self-published and sold to several churches with wonderful reviews. As I have grown spiritually, I have also designed workshops and retreats and written booklets. I am now in the midst of re-creating all of my work as PDF ‘s and DVD’s so I can re-market them again.
Now I am pursuing both of these talents with delight. If you want to view some of my artwork, check out annola-charity.fineartamerica.com, and Etsy.com.
