Bio
Anna Fairbank is a Melbourne based artist and designer whose practice moves between design environments and visual art, and investigates the spatial systems between these fields. Using digital media, photography and form making, content and medium is manipulated to explore ways of reinterpreting the urban, natural and artificial environments.
Trained as an architect, Fairbank has worked both in Australia and internationally with leading architectural firms including; Denton Corker Marshall, John Wardle, Carr Design Group and was most recently a principal with Hassell Studio. Working in conceptual frameworks, with a highly crafted focus across built-works, her design practice has encompassed a range of architectures.
Fairbank graduated from the University of Melbourne with honours and has studied photography at the International Center of Photography in New York City. She participates as a guest critic in art and design at locally and internatgionally, and currently exhibits and works between Melbourne and the USA. Her work is held in various private collections in Australia, Malaysia, Belgium and the USA.
