Bio
I am a Canadian writer and journalist who lives in Toronto, Canada, sometimes and in Mexico City at others. I write mostly about social movements, immigration, organic agriculture and political economy. My latest book is about the achievements of four significant grassroots social movements in four different countries: Brazil, India, Indonesia and Argentina. It will be published by Fernwood Books in the spring of 2011.
I am currently working on a new book, about migrant workers in Canada.
My two previous books are 'Into the Amazon: Chico Mendes and the Struggle for the Rain Forest' and 'On the Line: Life on the US-Mexico Border.'
