Bio
Best-selling children’s author, Donna Gentile launched her writing career with a God-given purpose: Create a contagious passion in children to live for God, well into their adulthood years! Educated with an Early Childhood Education Degree and Biblical Counseling/Children’s Sunday school experience, Donna created reproducible crafts that emulated life-changing Christ-centered character qualities (e.g. showing kindness, being respectful or helpful). As her students learned these qualities, their lives dramatically changed. Donna shared this victory with Rainbow Publishers and received her first 2-book contract in the series, More! Bible Crafts on a Shoestring Budget.
After Hurricane Katrina came ashore, Donna’s faith was truly tested. Memorializing Matthew 17:20, her faith remained steadfast and she published Sunday school curriculums and articles for Lifeway Christian Resources, e.g. “It Shouldn’t Take a Hurricane,” “How to Raise Up a Child,” and “G is for Glue: Creative Ways to Use Glue.” Donna has also published online Sunday school games at www.kidssundayschool.com as well as spoke at the Jane Austen Festival on “How to Publish Children’s Books.” In addition, Donna created the Marketing Brainstorm Meeting, held quarterly to help published Christian authors from Southern Christian Writer’s Guild to work together to learn where and the how-to of marketing. Mostly recently, Donna’s Bible story, “Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand” was included in the Fall publication of the online Catholic magazine, www.mylightmagazine.com.
Devoted wife of 36 years, First Baptist Church member and Sunday school teacher in Slidell, Louisiana of over 20 years, Donna welcomes her newest book: Nifty Thrifty Bible Crafts: Animals of the Old Testament to the public and available at Amazon.com or Barnes&Noble.com. Create a wave of Keeping Christ Alive in Our Kids!
