Bio
I am the founder of BAOBAB Travel and now follow my passion for responsible & sustainable tourism in Africa as a freelance consultant, helping people to develop & grow their business on the journey of sustainability.
Born & bred in Holland, lived & worked for 18 or so years in England, and now live my dream in Cape Town - probably the most beautiful spot in the world :-)
My background is in environmental science with a PhD in environmental management and years of teaching experience at various UK universities. Although I lost my love of academia, I never lost my love for environmental issues and sustainability. At home and in the office, we try & live an as sustainable as possible lifestyle.
I have always had a passion for travelling, meeting new people from different cultural backgrounds, learning about a country’s history and discovering new landscapes. I am privileged to have travelled extensively across the globe, but got bitten by the Africa bug big time after having worked as a volunteer in Tanzania. I sincerely hope you will soon get bitten by that bug too ;-)
