Bio
Hi! My name is Barbara. I'm a children's-book author, freelance writer, teacher and recovering lawyer, with a life-long passion for movies. It takes a lot more than the director and actors to create a film. I entreat critics to respect the filmmakers, the cast, crew, makeup people--everyone involved in a film's creation and the viewers see it as they are meant to: with a clean slate. When you tell us what a movie is about, don't tell us too much! You'll spoil the movie. Then tell us whether we should see it and why. This can be done WITHOUT SPOILERS!
Here's an example using a movie that most people have seen, "ET."
ET is about an Extra terrestial who visits Earth. He is discovered by three kids, who hide him from their mother. The movie is adorable! It has some funny, quirky parts and is completely heart warming. The kids are adorable--you can see the movie that made Drew Barrymore so famous, at age 6, her approximate age when the movie was filmed.
Mind you, this is a bare-bone review--that can be elaborated upon, again, without spoilers: talk more about the acting and actors, the set--whether ET looks alien or whether the film is dated. There is no need for further info.
You get the idea.
And now, until spoilers are outlawed as an exception to the First Amendment, let me be your watchdog for movie reviews! I will find reviews of movies, tell you their plots and then what the the critics had to say: all without spoilers. There are some extras, like fun facts about the movies, critiques of the reviews, and some humorous writing.
Enjoy!
