Bio
About the Artist by Lacie Motier
To describe a being as bright as the surface of the moon could take a lifetime. She whose spirit I’m sure has never touched the ground, but allows the wind to carry her exactly where she needs to be ... Trusting and forever exploring. If I were to paint a mural of Heather’s life, it would be an everlasting journey to surround herself with love and beauty as music is saturated in the air she breathes.
There is a fiery energy I have learned coming only from my red-headed friend that is a mix between a passionate Latin dancer and a squirrel trying to bury her nut… and I love it!! She has an immeasurable amount of love for animals, nature, art, music, friends and self-expression, to name a few. About six months ago, when Heather decided to change her major from Biology to Art (metalsmithing), there was no stopping her. I was a bit sad because that effectively meant no more classes together, however the excitement in her eyes was like nothing I had ever seen. She had found her calling. I was thrilled for her that she wanted nothing more than to bang on metal all day! Ever since that day she has been making the most gorgeous art, things which take patience, finesse and crazy creativity have bursted out of her. This amazingly gifted woman puts as much devotion into her pieces as she does into her family (especially Miss Liabelle), and into her friends…
To be a friend of Heather’s is of the deepest comfort of unconditional acceptance. There is no right or wrong, there are just moments which unfold to yield a joy of simply being together. In the presence of her friends, she basks in the laughter and finds truth in their moments of sharing. Whether singing and playing the banjo in a drum circle, watching live music over a couple margaritas or browsing for new gems at a local Goodwill, the value is in embracing community and the union of love.
(p.s. I love you Nutty Crunchy!)
