Bio
I was born and raised in Elgin, Il. In 1982, I graduated from Elgin High School and in 1997, I conferred my Associates Degree of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology from Elgin Community College. I worked in various hospitals and laboratories for twenty years and in March of 2007, I left the lab to pursue a career in Culinary Arts. It was then when I was stricken with the debilitating autoimmune disease Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. In March of 2012, I published my story in a book entitled, "My Battle with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome." Through my book, I am the recipient of ten accolades, including The Tier of Excellence Award through Oxford Who's Who. My goal is to reach others who suffer with this affliction and let them know there is hope for a better life as well as spread awareness for CFS. It is greatly misunderstood and has little social support.
