Bio
Bistra Spasova was born in the town of Svoge, Sofia District, Bulgaria. She worked as a history and geography teacher at the secondary school in the village of Iskrets (Svoge Municipality) for eleven years. During this period, she founded Video Productions Iva, where she served as a writer and director of advertising presentations, as well as a presenter for the "Crime News" segment in the news block on Cable TV Alice 93. She holds a Master’s degree in Law and a Master’s in International Relations and EU Law from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. She also earned an inter-university diploma from the Institute of European Law in Nancy, France, and the Robert Schuman Institute in Strasbourg. Additionally, she studied English at the British Council and Eurocentres in London, UK. Bistra has been a registered member of the Sofia Bar Association since 2002. She has participated as a consultant in several episodes of national television shows. Between 2012 and 2013, she wrote her first novel, Nestinarka, which was published in 2014 by East-West Publishing House in Bulgaria (ISBN 978-619-152-383-2, paperback). The digital edition, self-published in 2025, is available in English, Russian, and Bulgarian Her first novel is entitled Firewalker. A revised edition of the book has been published under the title The Nestinarka – To Dance on Coals. Some copies were initially released under the initials "B.S."; however, since another author is also publishing under the same initials, Bistra Spasova clarifies that she has not published — and will not publish — her books under the initials "B.S." Since 2019, she has been living in Israel.
