Bio
I am an artist, writer and researcher born in London,UK with a BA Hons in fine Art and an MA(UCL) in the Anthropology of Art. There is more information at my website Farman-Arts (www.farman-arts.com )which is the hub for all creative projects including Blue Horse Press.
I lived in Alberta, Canada (2005-10) then France (2010-12) and now back in the UK for work and writing which includes doctorate research about Spanish Mustangs and our small herd of six of these extraordinary horses.
Four of the horses travelled with me from Canada along with my two dogs. Two foals were born in France in 2011.
2010 marked the tenth anniversary of a momentous life change that, as one door closed another opened, took me to the Blackfeet reservation in Montana then led to the Spanish Mustangs.
Having completed extensive research amongst and with the Blackfeet from 2000 my latest research called “Colonial Caballo is about Spanish Mustangs in context of colonial Spain and as an analogy for America”. This has now been accepted for PhD studies at Bristol University, UK.
Travels have taken me within my own continent to Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Greece, Poland, around the UK and France, then to the Americas crossing east to west USA by train, research in Washington DC, to living in Canada.
From time to time I need a city fix having been raised only a 45-minute train journey from London and it is to there or Paris I go. They are my twin cities. Other favourite cities are Seattle, Vancouver, Munich, Florence.
My Top Three Places To See Before I Die are Meso & Latin America, India and SE Asia.
