Bio
Bobby Parker is an American actor, singer, and director who was born Bobby Gene Parker II on January 15, 1991 in Pensacola, Florida to Vickie Mayhan Parker and Bobby Gene Parker. However, Bobby and his mother soon returned Montgomery, Alabama where they remained until 2002. At an early age, it was obvious that Bobby was destined to be in the spotlight, making his debut performance atop a waiting room table at the birth of his oldest nephew at the age of four.
In 1996, Bobby began his academic career at Dannelly Elementary were he was a straight "A" student, always being called on for public speaking and performance roles. In 2002, Bobby and his mother moved to Destin, Florida where Bobby enrolled at Destin Middle School. There, Bobby was a star drama student, directing his first musical dinner theatre, Don't Rock the Boat, in the 6th grade as well as earning numerous academic achievement awards. In the summer of 2003, shortly after Bobby's mother had complications with her heart, they returned to Montgomery, Alabama where Bobby was enrolled at Goodwyn Junior High for his 7th grade year. Before the school year was over, Bobby auditioned and was accepted to study drama at the sought over Baldwin Arts and Academic Magnet Middle School where he was immediately placed in Advanced Drama at the audition. While at Baldwin, Bobby directed his second musical,The Snow Queen, and had a leading role in The Prince and the Pauper as Lord Hertford during his 8th grade year. He also helped write and produce ZAP: Zelda Advanced Project, an advanced drama production. In 2005, Bobby auditioned and was accepted to Booker T. Washington Magnet Hight School for the Performing Arts to study musical theatre. From 2005 to 2006 (his 9th grade year), Bobby excelled in his craft, studying the techniques and methods of Stella Adler and Stanislavsky. He also strengthened his vocal as well as his movement ability and also studied the International Phonetic Alphabet. While at BTW, Bobby competed in the District and State Walter Trumbauer Theatre Competition in the Solo Comedic Male Song category for "Under the Sea" as well as starred in and cohosted A Night of Rogers and Hammerstein.
In the summer of 2006, Bobby and his mother returned to Destin, Florida where he currently resides. Bobby spent his 10th grade year at South Walton High School where he portrayed multiple characters in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Our Town, and The Music Man. While at South Walton, Bobby was inducted into the International Thespian Society as well as performed Marvin Gaye's classic, "Heard It Through the Grapevine," at the school wide variety show, A Night of Artistic Expression. However, in 2007, Bobby opted for a different educational experience: dual enrollment. Bobby spent his 11th and 12th grade years at Northwest Florida State College continuing his theatre education. While at NWFSC, Bobby studied beginning and intermediate acting as well as set design. In May 2009, Bobby graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors from South Walton High School.
Currently, Bobby is the Music Ministry Assistant at his church where he also sings in the adult choir. Bobby is also the drama director, directing Lifesong in 2008 and Life School Musical in 2009. Also, Bobby is the music director and worship leader for Vacation Bible School as well as for Children's Church. Bobby is continuing his education at NWFSC pursuing his Bachelor's in Elementary Education and plans to transfer to Florida State University in Panama City in spring 2010.
