Bio
Bobby Stokes scored Southampton’s winning goal in the 1976 FA Cup Final, but how did a Portsmouth supporter end up playing for their local rivals, and should the goal have been allowed to stand? Having left Southampton in 1977 how did Bobby go from scoring the winner in front of fifty-thousand in New York to the Sussex League in the space of 12 months before dying in 1995 aged 44? This book answers those questions by telling the story of the man from Portsmouth who scored Southampton’s most famous goal.
