Bio
Vicki Stewart
Vicki Stewart has been a professor in the School of Justice & Emergency Services at Durham College in Ontario for over 25 years.
She teaches classes in Contracts Law, Title Searching, and Real Estate. As a small business owner she has been a legal administrator for over 30 years and title search consultant to several law firms in the Greater Toronto Area.
Vicki holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Trent University and is a graduate of the Durham College program in which she teaches.
She is a past board member of several community organizations including Durham College Board of Governors, Oshawa-Durham Symphony Association, The Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario and the Robert McLaughlin Art Gallery.
A frequent guest speaker, Vicki gave the Durham College convocation address in both the 1986 and 1999 graduation ceremonies.
Vicki published an article on performance-based learning in the 2006 edition of the academic journal, College Quarterly and is the editor of Legal Reflections, a newsletter for Durham College alumni.
Married to husband Andy, Vicki and Andy have a son, Jesse who is a professor of Music at Carleton University in Ottawa and two darling grandchildren whom she visits whenever she can.
Vicki lives in Courtice, Ontario with her husband and two dogs, Gumby and Toad.
Approaching retirement from teaching and relatively new to blogging she personifies the title of this blog. She is a member of the baby boomer demographic who is searching for a life outside of career.
