Bio
Dr. Brett Bard BVSc MRCVS
Brett lives to actively develop a tangible sense of compassion and empathy by expanding his and others’ awareness of animal sentience by promoting non-violence and recognizing the inherent value of all living beings.
At a young age he recognised his vocation to care for animals. After graduating from the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Onderstepoort in 1990 he continued to broaden his capacity for healing, now manifest through his work as a holistic veterinarian. This naturally led to involvement with humane education and other transformative community initiatives.
Brett advocates a vegan lifestyle that begins with nurturing the soil and cultivating organic vegetables on his permaculture market farm in the Great Karoo. Here he happily explores and shares ideas that elevate consciousness for healthy and sustainable living.
