Bio
Bryant Cross is an internationally-acclaimed performance poet, writer and activist born in Beligum and raised in the Southside of Chicago . His poetry has been featured on Russell Simmon’s All Def Poetry and he performs spoken word throughout the country. His blog has gathered over 1.5 million readers throughout the world with his content on race-relations, pop culture and faith. In 2013, he founded the 500Campaign to address gun violence in Chicago and organized a city-wide day of peace on June 10th that led to twenty-four hours of no major crime in many Chicago neighborhoods. He’s been recognized in the city as a Violence Interrupter & Peacemaker. Bryant Cross is also a Chicago Poetry Slam champion and was a finalist at the National Poetry Slam Group finals.
