Bio
Richard has a long history of martial arts going back to around 1980 where he started out with Judo and then Karate. Over the years following he studied a variety of styles from different countries while looking for what suited him best and what he found was most effective for him personally. Effectiveness has always been the key motivation behind all of Richards practice. Around 1987/88 he discovered the Bujinkan and travelled around the country to find instruction. Nottingham was 1st then London in around 1990. Richard achieved his Jugodan on the 17th July 2017 and continues his studies so he can continue to improve and progress himself. He doesn't only train in the Bujinkan however, he is also a 3rd Dan in Ryoi Shinto Ryu and studies Eishin Ryu swordsmanship. Richard believes he can never learn enough and if we ever think we have learned everything, then it's time to move on because you have have clearly lost the hunger for the ultimate way, the way of Budo.
