Bio
My name is Kate and I live in West London.
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2009, initially Relapsing Remitting (RRMS) but this has developed into Secondary Progressive (SPMS) over the last few years. This is a progressive disease, there is no cure and it's not going to get better. But the way I see it is that there's a devil inside me and either I let it rule my life or I take control, and run my life the way I want it to be.
With this new diagnosis for me of Breast Cancer, this is a hormone driven condition that can be controlled. It can be cured and the prognosis is very good. Screening is now part of all of our lives and without the screening I received last month, this small tumour might have gone unnoticed for some time. Most women diagnosed with Breast Cancer come through it healthy and cancer free with only a 2% chance of it returning once the treatment is completed. I'm confident that this little devil is not going to get a look in!
It is as it is. Move on and stay positive.
