Bio
Medical School Student, Wife, and Mother.
This is how you have your cake and eat it, too.
I always hate having to try to explain myself in these things- it's like med school applications all over again...
I grew up in Poteau, OK. Yes, it's real. Biggest Attraction? World's Largest Hill, of course. (Go ahead, look it up.) My parents were ideal- always supporting, loving, and teaching. If you know them at all, you'll probably read most of these entries and find Steve and Cindy woven throughout them.
I think I decided that I wanted to for sure be in the medical field when I was 13. Being a doctor? Well, that had it's ups and downs along the way. But I suppose it's worked out, finally.
One thing never changed, though. I always wanted to travel. And not to Europe or Cancun (though I am not discouraging any free ticket donations)--I wanted to go to the untouchable villages of India (so I did) and exotic places like Egypt (did that too).
Then I got married. Honestly, I don't know how I got so lucky for Michael to decide to ask me out on a whim...and for it to work out so beautifully. When we met, we never dreamed that life would have taken us where it has. But it's definitely an adventure that is so fun and that I love watching first-hand.
We have also been blessed with our LOVELY daughter, who was 3 months old when I received my white coat. The journey is a doozy- but doable. You really can have your cake and eat it too.
I suppose that's a start...
