Bio
Artist, Musician, Songwriter and Producer.
Captain Lethargy is the stage name of British musician and artist Keith Grindley. He was given the name due to the lack of guitar solos he played and on the rare occasions where he had to play one, the conciseness and execution of the solo.
He plays guitar, bass guitar keyboards and drums, though he is best known for being a very tight rhythm guitarist with his own built in metronome.
A Musician songwriter Producer and artist, he was among the founders of the Underground Newspaper “Fapto” in the 1970’s whilst at the same time playing guitar in all styles as a drop in session/ gig player, for whoever needed a guitarist.
As he was approaching 15 years old, and with a bundle of songs under his arm, he started playing in local folk clubs in the Thanet and Canterbury area. Here he met Kevin Ayers, who was playing with Soft Machine and getting ready fot a solo career. He also met Daevid Allen, founder of Gong.. In the clubs he noticed a new style of playing, finger picking. and glissando guitar. Things that were to stay with him all his life.
