Bio
Case-Mate began with a simple goal in mind: to make protective, stylish and affordable cases for the technological tools we use everyday.
We are a group of engineers who happen to be passionate about the latest gadgets on the market. Being typical designers, we obsess when it comes to protecting our accessories. Initially, we had been fascinated with the expensive leather case designs for Apple iPod. Not wanting to fork over the cash, we later discovered, while on a lunch break, that we could create a better, less expensive case ourselves. That was back in the fall of 2005.
What began as a weekend hobby, tinkering with different materials and tweaking case designs, morphed into hard ideas about a definite product. The result was an impact resistant shell that conformed to the shape of the iPod covered in rich leather. The design took us overseas to India and China where we met with plastics engineers and leather craftsmen. After lamenting over countless prototypes, we came up with a case that we felt was good enough for our own iPod at a price point that did not burn holes in our wallets.
A great sense of pride and satisfaction swept over our offices when we launched our first case design and began to take orders on our website Dec 7, 2005.
Since then, this exciting journey has caused us to expand upon our efforts creating other products with the same single goal in mind: to make the best cases we can at affordable prices. The response from consumers has been both overwhelming and humbling.
