Bio
My name is Homa Adler.
Like many of you, I’ve had cancer and lived to tell my story.
Before being simultaneously diagnosed with unrelated cases of kidney and breast cancer, I was a dentist.
I loved my job. When people are in a dentists’ chair, they often feel vulnerable and exposed. They’re sitting in a chair, hands by their sides and their mouths are open. But I was helping them in a tangible way—I made the comfortable and solved their problems.
But chemotherapy left my fingers numb and unable to practice dentistry.
Yet that experience as a cancer patient led to a new career. I’ve created a line of clothing designed specifically for patients getting treatments. Hospital rooms are often cold and uncomfortable. People are in bed, their hands by their sides, with tubes and ports coming out of their bodies. They often struggle to stay warm.
My line of clothing answers that need. Zippers and snaps allow access while still keeping people warm. With this line of clothing, I’m still in service to others—making people comfortable and solving their problems.
