Bio
Christina Boomer Vazquez is an Emmy Award-winning journalist with nearly two decades of experience in the broadcast journalism industry. She was the creator of the Emmy Award-winning investigative consumer protection segment “Call Christina” on WPLG in Miami. Christina was honored to earn a regional Edward R. Murrow award for her coverage from Honduras of the child migration border crisis. She was also awarded a USC Annenberg Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism, a national award. Judges commended Christina for her “creative use of ‘participatory journalism’ connecting viewers to candidates through Twitter and other social media" while at ABC15 in Phoenix. As a leader in digital innovation, Christina worked to guide the integration of technology to engage audiences with multimedia experiences while serving on the executive team at Miami’s flagship contemporary art museum Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). This included developing the museum’s brand journalism content marketing strategy, hiring the museum’s first-ever digital journalist, developing the strategy for PAMM Portraits, the museum’s first microsite of original multimedia content, launching the PAMM App and overseeing a first-of-its-kind Knight Foundation-funded augmented reality art exhibition utilizing Apple’s ARKit. Christina also developed PAMM Kids, the museum’s first institution-wide branding initiative for all programs and services for families and kids under 12. Christina is currently working as a media consultant, training journalists in emerging democracies and providing media training and presentation coaching to corporations and foundations. She is a member of United Way Women United and Global Ties Miami.
