Bio
Colin Chenery has a passion for personal and spiritual development – in living mindfully and consciously from the heart, with free spirited presence in an authentic, personal way.
Colin has decades of experience as a therapist (counselling, body work, breath and movement therapies) and business director in the health and wellness industry (certified organic health product development and distribution). In his work, Colin also infuses experience and learning from world-wide travels exploring various disciplines and practices, blended with his life-long practice of martial arts and Bushido, qigong and meditation as well as his yoga practice and studies.
His devotion, discipline, thirst for knowledge and wealth of experience mean he is well placed to draw on traditional teachings and modern therapeutic modalities to bring fresh perspectives and an in-depth approach in his work with others, as well as his upcoming book and courses.
Colin has over 45 years of martial arts training with black belts in a number of disciplines. He has studied and trained in China and is currently Australian National Squad Head Coach of the Australian Martial Arts Championships (AMAC) organisation, Branch Chief and member of the Shihan-Kai for Kempo Genbu Ryu International. His daily meditation practice spans almost four decades and over the last 20 years he has also incorporated yoga into his own personal quest for understanding mind, body and spirit. He currently has a private practice (counselling, coaching and support work) and does regular group work.
