Bio
I’m an unemployed wannabe. That’s the story of my life, always an altar boy but never a priest. I’m unemployed but not by choice although when the opportunity clearly was my only choice, I embraced it with open arms. Prior to accepting my current state, I worked in an advertising agency. Today, I’m an aspiring unemployed wannabe turned blogger.
I lived and worked in New York, I grew-up on Long Island. I’m in my fifties and I’m in a long-term relationship. My other half was a full-time consultant.
About nine years ago, I had an epiphany after reading Driving over Lemons which led us to buy a house in the Caribbean. Eight years ago, we purchased a house on Saba, in the Dutch Caribbean.
I could wail about the inequities of life as a fifty something that will never work again but I had to reconsider what I could and what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I love to eat but I never had the time to cook. I’ve eaten in some of the best eateries around the world but those days are over. Now, I cook dinner every night. In fact, I’m a very good cook. I know that if they decided to do the Saban version of “Top Chef” I would be a contender. We use to travel a lot now we stay home and enjoy our piece of paradise. I love to read so now I read every day. My newest hobby is gardening. I’ve always believed in the power of the word so now I’m trying to write a blog
