Bio
I started painting 22 years ago, while pregnant with my second child. The identity of wife and mother seem to be over taking Connie and I was desperate to find something that was just for me. Over the years I painted during naptime and after the kids had gone to bed at night, it was far too difficult and frustrating to attempt "me time" while they were conscious! Once at a family dinner I over heard my uncle giving my grandmother a hard time about a painting she had promised him for his wedding that she had yet to complete. He was confused when she said that she had just not found the time to work on it; "Mom, you had seven children and painted all the time, now you have no children at home and you can't find the time?!" She looked him square in the eye and said "Mike, when I had seven children at home… I HAD TO paint!" I felt the same way.
Now that the youngest of my four children is getting ready to graduate from high school I have decided that it is finally time for me to … figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I am currently an Art major at MSU Denver and loving every minute of it (except the papers, I hate the papers). After I get my BFA from Metro my plan is to get a Masters in Art Therapy from Napora, then a few years internship somewhere, and then get a PhD in Art Therapy, somewhere (haven't figured that part out yet) – the whole thing should only take another 12 years or so…. Only. My husband is a trend trader who works from home, so has promised to follow me wherever I need to go on this journey…
So ready or not – HERE I GO!
