Bio
I was born in Dearborn Michigan in the lovely year of 1980. My childhood was spent drawing, playing in the dirt, and genuinely having a good time. I have a younger brother Luke and an older sister Celeste. We are the children of the best known parents Pat and Lari Jackson.
At 15, I saved up to go to Europe for the first time, after that I knew traveling was going to be an important part of my life. After graduation (yes, I am skipping the teenage angst years mainly because they were straight depressing) I spent a few months in Europe seeing everything I wanted to see. At 19 I went to art school at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I met life long friends and learned a lot from the world, including the fact that I didn't want to do graphic arts. Two years later after a mental breakdown I dropped out and moved back to the great lakes. I hiked a few mountains, read dozens of books, and painted my heart out.
I am graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a double major in Fine Arts and African American Studies. In 2008 I volunteered in Africa for 2 months and it changed my life and views of everything around me. Soon after, I moved to the windy city and now reside in Chicago, Illinois still painting, still reading, and still inspired. In August of 2008 I helped open a gallery called Three Birds Gallery at 1323 N. Milwaukee. I am the house artist, I recruit local artists and curate their shows. Its my dream job and it just keeps getting better. Some day I plan to return to college and get a certification to teach Literature and Art. If that doesn't happen, most likely I'll be living in a tree house in Africa reading and painting wondering what life has in store for me next.
