Bio
I’ve had the honor of enjoying the warm hospitality of so many Native households in my travels. I’ve been served whale blubber and soy sauce by a kind Inupiaq woman in Nome, Alaska (it was very chewy) and alligator tail in Florida. At a feast in a First Nations Longhouse in British Columbia, a little Native boy told me he loved to eat herring eggs, because when he crunched them, it sounds like soldiers marching in his mouth.
