Bio
Ted Panken is a music journalist whose beat primarily is jazz and creative music. His byline currently appears in DownBeat, Jazziz, Jazz Times, and other publications, and he has, in the past, published consequentially on the www.jazz.com website, for the New York Daily News, and as a reviewer-interviewer on barnesandnoble.com. Between 1985 and 2008, he was a music programmer on WKCR-FM. He was voted a Lifetime Achievement in Jazz Journalism award by the Jazz Journalists Association in 2016. Since the spring semester of 2018, he has taught Jazz History Survey to Masters students in the Jazz division of the Aaron Copland Conservatory at Queens College.
