Bio
"I am an aspiring environmentalist that is always up for an adventure and not afraid of change. I strive to inspire others toward becoming eco-friendly and chasing their dreams."
Danielle Peck is a graduate student at the University of Wyoming working on a concurrent Masters in International Studies and Environment and Natural Resources. Her focus and passion is within waste management issues. With previous experience designing a recycling program in rural Wyoming, she is currently studying global waste systems and solutions in order to further tackle the ever-growing waste and pollution within the United States. Summer 2017, Peck will conduct research in Berlin Germany on environmental attitudes and values with interviews, policy analysis and landscape interpretation.
Peck received a B.A. in International Studies (social and cultural issues) and a minor in German at UW. During her studies in Wyoming, she spent one year abroad in Berlin, Germany studying language, history and European politics. In between school, Peck spent summers working for the Bighorn Canyon NRA as a Park Guide Interpreter giving boat, kayak and campground programs, while also working as a fee collector and social media director. This spiked her interest in environment and sustainable development issues.
Upon graduation she moved to New York City and interned for Global Action to Prevent War and Armed Conflict covering events at the United Nations and writing for GAPW's blog. Upon completion of her internship in New York, Peck moved to Grandvaux, Switzerland and began volunteering for the Earth Focus Foundation and Green Map Swiss in Geneva. Peck spent 2015 in Lovell, WY were she founded the Rose City Recycling committee that implemented a new recycling program. She also gained experience working with youth while substitute teaching. 2016 brought adventures beginning in Minnesota and ending in Maine working within resource management at Acadia National Park.
