Bio
Dave Gallison, MS, LPC favors an action-oriented approach to career management that puts you in control of your future. Together we will identify your unique needs, strengths, and career alternatives, then develop a plan that gives you the tools and confidence to achieve the greater work and life satisfaction you know is possible.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Dave considers the whole person, not just your career. His approach and experience can assist you with any personal growth and relationship issues that may hold back career fulfillment.
For an estimate of how long career counseling might take, it depends on what you want to accomplish, how much time and energy you can devote to homework between sessions, and how big the leap is between your present situation and your new career. Generally,
•Single career issue: 2- 4 meetings (e.g. résumé upgrade, interview prep)
•Job change: 5-8 meetings
•Career choice/change: 6-12 meetings
Dave has over fifteen years experience in career counseling, job search consulting, and executive coaching and works with all ages from college to retirement. His unique strength as a career counselor is preparing you for informational interviews and directly assisting you in gaining access to employed contacts within desired organizations.
Dave’s private career counseling practice is complemented by experience with sizable organizations. He has directed a university career center, provided outplacement services for large employers like US Bank, Hewlett Packard, and Motorola, and managed a private vocational rehabilitation office. He has also held director-level positions in non-profit social services, higher education, healthcare administration, and worked as a provider in behavioral health. Dave attained a Masters Degree from the University of Oregon with a combined emphasis in Counseling, Psychology & Health Education and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, Oregon #CO697).
