Bio
Persuasive. Curious. Practical.
I'm a person who likes to try new approaches and explore different options with a bit of restraint though. I've no desire to go bungie jumping and I doubt I'd ever dye my hair yellow.
Unleash me in a kitchen and watch creativity and wild abandon take oever. I enjoy reading historical novels, biographies and urban fiction. I enjoy people watching and staying up-to-date on fashion trends. Cooking, home decorating, flower gardening, and touring museums - especially history and craft centers - excite me.
My first official job at age 18 was in a museum. Little did I know that experience would circle back around to a 30-year career in the museum field. I've met and interviewed world leaders and cultural icons including the 14th dali lama, Nelson Mandela, Colin Powell, Bono, Oprah Winfrey, Marlo thomas, Barbara Jordan, George Bush and Bill Clinton.
My desire for the recorded interviews is that they are made available to the public and school age students as they make decisions about how they, too, can grow to become leaders in life.
Since 2015 I've been free to pursue interests in community-based youth empowerment projects, personal fitness activities, and spend time quality time with family.
Always on the lookout for the next good adventure, I'm currently enjoying being back in the classroom at the University of Memphis taping into my passion for writing.
