Bio
Imagine ecological systems as intricate jigsaw puzzles, their pieces scattered across data, theory, and disciplines. My work lies in assembling these pieces. I am a biologist with a Ph.D. in Ecology, as well as an alumnus of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany, currently serving as an associate professor at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. My research focuses on ecological synthesis, with a particular interest in uncovering the hidden assembly rules that govern species interactions. While bats have long been my primary study system, my work spans a wide range of organisms and environments. Like a scientific detective, I connect fragments of knowledge to reveal the broader patterns of biodiversity. Beyond research, I am committed to training the next generation of scientists and to promoting open, accessible science for broad audiences.
