Bio
Purposeful College Readiness, Retention, and Literacy for Parents Consultant!
Dr. ClauDean Kizart has served in the field of education for over 18 years. Her teaching and professional development experience, in both the elementary and post-secondary sector of education, as well as her doctoral research has helped her become an emerging expert in providing data-informed and researched based solutions to a variety of educational issues. Dr. Kizart works with students, faculty and administrations to empower first-year, first generation, and other socio-economically challenged college students to complete degrees of higher education.
Dr. Kizart is a former TRiO participant who received her Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Lindenwood University. She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Saint Louis University, a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Harris-Stowe State University with a minor in Social Studies. She also holds Certificates in Reading and Advanced Teaching On-Line.
Dr. Kizart has a love for education! In addition to her work with first-generation and other under-represented college students, she teaches education courses and works for Missouri Reading Initiative. As a state wide trainer for Missouri Reading Initiative, she facilitates professional development workshops for administrators, teachers, and literacy coaches focused on best practices and research-based strategies in comprehensive/ balanced literacy.
Dr. Kizart is also a parent of 2 children, she is a soccer mom who loves reading, sewing, and gardening. She is a student and teacher of West African and Haitian/Caribbean dance.
