Bio
Randy Harper and his wife Vicki have been serving Bellaire Baptist Church for more than 12 years. Vicki heads up the Women’s Ministry at Bellaire and teaches Sunday school. She is also co-owner of Harper Homes, LLC, building both residential and commercial buildings.
Bro. Randy grew up in an Air Force family and graduated from high school in Honolulu, Hawaii, prior to moving back to the Bossier City area. While working for an engineering firm, Bro. Randy was saved during a revival. He holds a black belt in Karate and Kung Fu, and his first ministry after being saved was through Kung Fu demonstrations. He is a graduate of Baptist Christian College with a B.A., M.A. and Doctor of Divinity; New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary; and, additionally, holds a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Luther Rice Seminary.
His first full-time ministry position was Minister of Evangelism and Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church in Bossier City where he served for seven years. Feeling God’s call to the pastorate, he served as Pastor of Northwoods Baptist Church in Shreveport for four years prior to coming to Bellaire.
As Pastor of Bellaire, he has led our church through five building projects, including our new worship center and two story learning center and student center, and we have grown from one Sunday morning service to three services. Under his leadership, Bellaire has more than tripled in attendance (from 300 to more than 1,000 each Sunday) and the budget has grown from $200,000 to nearly $3 million per year, and we have obtained two parcels of land for future expansion. We are currently constructing a 90,000 sq. ft. building on our South Campus across from Parkway High School at a cost of more than $5 million. Bellaire Complex will house a Fitness Center, Learning Center, gymnasium, and administrative offices, as well as a 9:30 worship service on Sunday. The Complex is scheduled to open Spring 2009.
Bro. Randy’s heart beats to evangelism. He has a passion for sharing Christ and this passion is contagious. During each of his 10 years at Bellaire, we have been one of the Top 10 churches in baptisms in the State of Louisiana. Throughout the campus of Bellaire, there are signs stating “Changed Lives” because our Pastor believes that lives are changed completely when people make Jesus Christ Lord and Savior of their lives.
Bro. Randy and Vicki have three sons, two grandsons and a granddaughter. Jeffrey is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport and Louisiana Baptist University. He and his wife Missy have two children, Elijah and Olivia Grace. Jeff currently serves as Pastor of Northwood Baptist Church in Shreveport. Joey and his wife Denise serve in the United States Army at Ft. Polk, Louisiana, and recently returned from deployment in Iraq. Joey has a son, Conner. Jared is employed by the Bossier City Fire Department and recently became engaged to Karly Berthelot.
