About Us
The goal of DrSchuller.org is to inspire the world. To inspire is “to breath the breath
of life into.” We believe that this incorporates the whole person, body, mind, and
spirit. So we reach out to the whole person, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
We do this through videos and writing. Most of the videos are done by Dr. Robert
Anthony Schuller and Donna Schuller.
Robert is the son of the famed televangelist, Robert Harold Schuller. His father came
to Garden Grove, Calif. in 1955 to start a church in the tradition of the Dutch
Reformed Church in America (RCA). The most famous pastor in America at that time
was the RCA pastor from Marble Collegiate Church in New York, N.Y., Norman Peale.
Dr. Peale wrote the best selling book of all time, at that point, “The Power Of Positive
Thinking.” Starting in a Drive-In Theater, Dr. Schuller needed a boost and persuaded
Dr. Peale to preach on the snack bar rooftop and that launched what would become
the first “Megachurch.”
Twenty years later the Garden Grove Community Church founded by Dr. Robert
Harold Schuller had 10,000 members. He was the first pastor to be seen across the
nation with a televised worship service, the Hour of Power. According to the Neilson
and the Arbitron rating services, the Hour of Power was by far the #1 viewed
religious program in the world. In fact, he coined the word “Televangelist.”
In light of the Norman Peale history, Dr. Robert Harold Schuller promoted the
message of Possibility Thinking. At the 20 year anniversary of the Hour of Power,
every living US President presented congratulatory remarks. That included Richard
Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, George W. Bush.
As the son of “America’s Pastor,” Dr. Schuller II, embraced the vision of his father
and started participating in the Hour Of Power after graduating from Hope College
in Holland, Mich. He graduated from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA. and was
ordained inside the 1 week old, Crystal Cathedral.
In 1981 he started a church in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. and led that church for 20
years. During that time he continued his participation on the Hour Of Power
television church by reading scriptures, offering prayers, conducting interviews and
preaching.
In 1984 Dr. Schuller met Donna Greenough in Laguna Beach, CA. On November of
that year, they were married. Donna Schuller took leadership in the San Juan
Capistrano church and started teaching, counseling and mentoring. She is a
Certified Nutritional Consultant who specializes in the effects of family dynamics on
emotional, spiritual, and physical health. She got her certifications from Trinity
School of Natural Health in Warsaw, IN. She has authored 3 books.
