Bio
(Work in Progress)
I'm a "former" everything. I thought I had to do it to write about it, or at least live a little bit outside the constraints of a small town, to be able to write believably. So, I jumped from a Presidential Scholarship into the U.S. Army. My Basic training at Ft. Jackson was in the same exact Company where 3 trainees died the Cycle before. We were also part of an Army experiment on integration of the sexes in training. After a stint at Ft. Gordon where I realized I had no interest in electronics, I ended up instructing in Field Artillery Ballistic Meteorology at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Being a woman in the military, especially in the artillery and signal corp, was like being a slice of bread in Ethiopia. A halfway decent looking girl was bread with butter. If you had a nice smile and personality, too...an entire club sandwich, double decker with bacon.
I ended up with Husband Number One back home in Kentucky, pregnant with Daughter Number One. Thanks to Uncle Sam's veterans job protection laws, I got my job back as a clerk at Sears in Florence Mall. I moved on (from all but Daughter), to undercover investigator, rental car clerk, factory work, disk jockey, retail gas manager, temp, food service, format specialist-State of Oklahoma Career Tech, employment specialist State of Oklahoma, computer sales & repair company founder/owner, dating service owner/founder, writing service owner/founder, catering/restaurant owner/founder, training & research company founder/major stockholder, university professor, engineering lab manager, business manager, merchandiser, production supervisor (Bridgestone), purchasing manager local Native American tribe, retail department store management, and one day at White Castle. I've even interviewed Mitch McConnell, before he was Senator. THAT was a weird one.
I know it's a bit unbelievable and I was even been called a liar once.
