Bio
I have been a Corporate Executive for over 22 years with a company that ranked 4th on the list of Global Fortune 500 in 2011. I have a tremendous amount of experience in leading change management, skills honed over the years through multiple mergers, acquisitions, and organizational restructuring. Within my career I have been a leader in our Training & Organizational Development Department, participated in crafting Organizational Design, served as Project Manager of multiple cross-functional initiatives, and have been recognized as an expert in Operations Management.
I am also the father of Ashley Dunn, a 15 year old female competitive Junior Bowler. Ashley began bowling at the age of eight. Over the past seven years we have spent an average of 25 hours or more per week in bowling centers across the country. I have been involved with her development through participation in House Leagues, Sport Leagues, Local Tournament Clubs, Training Clinics conducted by world class professionals within the sport, National & International Tournaments, and routine coaching sessions with some of the best in the sport. I have spent countless hours researching and studying the sport, and I have seen the decline.
My first hand experience at ground level with youth bowling has provided me some unique insights into the root causes of the sports decline. It is these insights, combined with my professional background, that compels me to take action on behalf of the youth that love this sport.
As a result I have formed the organization US Youth Bowling with the following as our high level mission.
~We are an emerging online resource that supports initiatives to grow the sport of bowling.
~We will grow the social awareness of the benefits of competitive bowling, with a focus on college scholarship opportunities.
~We will provide a video outlet for bowlers to showcase their skills to an audience beyond their local community.
