Bio
Emanuelle Degli Esposti is doctoral researcher at SOAS, University of London, where she is conducting research on Iraqi diasporic politics. Her research interests include the politics of belonging and identity, psychosocial notions of subjectivity, forced migration, sectarianism, and gender performativity in the Middle East.
Emanuelle holds an MSc Middle East Politics from SOAS and an MA and BA in French and Philosophy from Oxford University. The editor and founder of online journal The Arab Review, which showcases contemporary art and culture in the Arab world, she has also worked as a freelance journalist covering the Middle East. Her academic writings have appeared in journals including The McGill Journal of Middle East Studies and St Anthony’s International Review; while her journalistic articles have appeared a number of publications, including the New Statesman, The Economist, The Telegraph, The White Review, and Oasis Magazine.
